Forming a Community organizing chapter
Data Center Rebellion is organized along the principle of democratic community cooperative ownership. We use the Movement Tables structure for forming new community chapters. These are leadership structures.
Movement Tables convene to drive coordinated action focused on tackling specific injustices facing communities. Each table focuses on defined movement issues in a specific community or geographic area.
Movement tables convene with 3 or 5 individuals. They create a community agreement, or statement of unity, and may expand the decision-making team by adding more extensions and chairs.
We recommend that tables officially split at 13 with a max of 15 members.
Although it’s possible to continue to add chairs to each table, the work of building deep relationships and trust becomes almost impossible when a table grows too large to connect all voices around a room. Movement tables work in common cause together.

Build movement infrastructure and a training network to power our emerging movement in communities across the globe.
Develop advocacy tools, posters, leaflets and fact sheets to empower community organizers and local campaigns.
Create a local organizing fund to cover upfront costs for communities starting campaigns to fight data centers in their backyards.
Launch a rapid response organizing team that provides hands-on training and community organizing support when communities request help and solidarity.
Fund an education network of content creators and online activists to grow our movement and educate the public on the harms of Data Centers and AI.
